For a few years already, I have really enjoyed playing Pavlov Shack VR. It’s a game for the Meta Quest (formerly Oculus) VR headset. Gameplay feels like Counter-Strike in VR. Pretty cool! However, if there's one thing I enjoy a lot, it’s the WW2 game modes.

The modding community around this title is thriving. So, I decided to throw my bit into the pool and create a WW2 map. After a long time, it will finally be done soon! For now, I am aiming for October 2026.

This map is inspired by the Edersee dam level in Call of Duty 1. Models of the dam, generator hall, garages, elevator, ladders and a few other things were made by me; the rest of them are freely available online (with a lot of tweaks).

Making this map is so much fun, since the hardware of Meta Quest 2 is quite limited. If the map isn't supposed to be simplistic and should look cinematic, you need to think about the map's demands on the CPU and GPU, which are, by today's PC world standards, pretty weak! I also learned a lot about UE5 while creating this little virtual world. Here are a few screenshots of what it will look like!
