DIVISI THINNER

Sampled orchestras suffer from many problems. Among others, there is often a lack of divisi samples. I am mostly using Cinematic Studio libraries. Their Strings sound wonderful and lush. One can partially make a believable divisi string section with a library like this by using EQ. Problems arise when there are multiple microphone positions (in my case, three stereo signals at once).

This plugin is designed for the Reaper DAW and solves exactly this problem. It accepts 4 stereo signals and has 4 stereo outputs. For each stereo signal, there are two corrective EQ points and an overall gain control. It also supports mid/side processing. It’s quite lightweight on the CPU, especially since the user can switch the unused EQs OFF.

The file includes presets for Cinematic Studio Strings and for the Horns in Cinematic Studio Brass libraries.

Since the plugin is in JSFX format, it works only in the Reaper DAW. I plan on releasing VST and CLAP versions soon.

CC EXPRESSION ENGINE

To create a believable sound with sampled libraries, one needs to master their controls. However, time can be unforgiving, and deadlines can be too.

This tool automatically controls vibrato (CC 2 in the case of Cinematic Studio Strings) based on dynamics (CC 1). It can also control any CC value based on another CC value; there are no limits. It has multiple modes of operation, from simple follow based on the curve to quite complex (and frankly believable) modulation, which makes the strings feel truly alive. The user can control the shape of the curve by 8 draggable points.

Since the plugin is in JSFX format, it works only in the Reaper DAW. I plan on releasing VST and CLAP versions soon.
